Look at how tiny and adorable little Lawson is! He has the most amazing blond hair I’ve ever seen. It’s so thick for a newborn boy. I couldn’t believe how awake he was for his session. He didn’t want to miss out on all of the action. He did a great job. Lawson’s big brother Lucas was on hand to help out which came in handy when I was setting up the props. He was a great helper – very curious about the whole process.

Tammara, Lawson’s mom, brought handmade blocks with his name on them. The attention to detail on these blocks were amazing. She should sell those on an Etsy shop or something! I know I would buy them!

Tammara and her husband, Scott have an adorable family. Her boys are very charming and will make your heart melt for sure! I was very honored to shoot Lawson’s newborn photos! Thanks again Tammara!

Hi everyone!

These past few months have been so busy! Thank you! The summer is winding down, but that doesn’t mean I am! Just to update you all, I am now all booked up until November! If you have been emailing me recently about an open date you are included as a tentative booking, so don’t worry – I didn’t give away your spot!

I am still booking for 2011 weddings -  check my calendar for availability on your date.

Alexa was the most well-behaved newborn! She was so go with the flow. She would let me pose her and even gave us a few big smiles! Also, do I even need to say it?! Look at her hair! How gorgeous! I told Alexa that she could be my model anytime. I think she agreed. This was one of those 90 degree July days – it was pretty warm and there was no wind. Alexa didn’t seem to mind, but her parents and I were sweating up a storm!

Cute story: While Alexa’s mom, Kristin and I bonded over motherhood, the dad, Chris stayed nearby if needed. When we put Alexa on the scale, Chris was quite anxious. I assured him she was fine and Kristin said the same. I had to smile though…it’s always the dads who are very protective of their daughters! Just take a peek at the look he gave her in the second to last photo! Awwww! My heart melts! My husband was the same. Chris, it never gets any easier!

Believe it or not Alexa is already 2 months old now and I am sure in that little span of time she has changed. Even though they weren’t newborn photos, this new family still has these wonderful images to look back on.

What a fun shoot! We had THE best day for an outside shoot! The clouds were puffy, the sky was blue, love was in the air…

Fallon and Stephen grew up in rural towns actually not far from where I am from! We had fun shooting on Stephen’s parent’s property. Their property is great for outdoor shoots! I joked with Stephen’s dad that I wanted to rent the place out from him on weekends! Ha! I let them roam around and every once in a while I’d yell – “Oh wait stop right there!” They’d look around and probably thought I was crazy since they were posed in front of a horse trailer. There were 2 on the property I was quite obsessed with. And the 2 trailers? Oh, don’t even get me started!!!! LOVE! (Ok, Amy….enough about the property – more about the couple!)

Fallon and Stephen have this silly humor with each other that is fun to watch. Mostly because it reminds me of my husband and I! Underneath their silly sides, Fallon is very caring and has amazing taste and Stephen is a gentleman that is so smitten with his soon-to-be wife.   Also – how cute are their dogs? I’m looking forward to September next year! It’s going to be one fun wedding!

Look at this little guy! How handsome is he? I’d like to introduce you to my nephew, Jamison. He was born on June 9, 2010. I came over for his session a week after he was born. He was surprisingly awake for most of the shoot. He didn’t want to miss a thing. He wasn’t a big fan of posing, but loved to be in his mommy and daddy’s arms. It is so fun to watch the parents cater to their new addition. The look of love on their faces says it all. I say it all the time, and now it’s even harder to pick favorites since this is family — but it was so hard to choose the blogworthy photos. One in particular stands out to me…The father son photo. It gives me chills. So amazing. I said to my brother-in-law that day, “Isn’t it amazing to see yourself in your children?” He looked over at Jamison with a smile and said, “Yes, yes it is. Incredible.” I will never forget that. That look of seeing a father and son – so special! Watching my family grow in love is something I was honored to capture…as a photographer, a sister and now an aunt.

Now that my daughter is 3 months old, I am excited whenever I get to do newborn shots. I get to relive how teeny tiny the hands are, their smell, and of course the fact you can pose them so easily….I am sure when my daughter is mobile that will become quite a problem! Landon was the first newborn to try out my new vintage scale. I think the scale itself is pretty accurate, but don’t tell that to Landon’s parents! When they saw the number on the scale they looked at each other with disbelief. Landon is so long for a newborn – he even has long fingers too -  just like his daddy, the guitar player. My favorite shots have to be in the guitar case. We even tried to put him on the guitar, but he was not a fan of the pose, unfortunately. He loves being held and warm of course, so I think I am glad it was close to 90 degrees on shoot day. We took him outside and he was fast asleep!

I am so glad I was able to capture the intimate family moments and Landon’s lovely expressions! Welcome to the world Landon!

I have added a new prop to my bag of tricks! This is a vintage 1940-50 Hanson baby scale. I am in love with it.

I can’t believe Drew is already two! I know we say all the time how quickly times passes, but it really did seem like yesterday when I photographed Drew’s one year photos. He has grown so much in that amount of time. He is so much more independent and is a joy to watch. He loves to discover new things. Drew’s personality just keeps evolving – he loves to share and show off his toys, which you can see in some of his photos here! Even woodchips from his backyard intrigued him — it was so refreshing to see a child be excited over the littlest things. His shoot really made my day. His baby blues are even bluer (if that’s possible!) and he is getting cuter by the minute. Happy 2nd Birthday Drew! Hope it was great!
